Henry Bradley Johnson, Jr.
December 23, 1928 - June 22, 2006
Savannah - Henry Bradley Johnson, Jr., age 77, died Thursday, June 22, 2006, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Along with his wife, Virginia P. Johnson, the Savannah native operated Empire Insurance Agency for many years. He was a member of St. Francis of the Islands Episcopal Church where he formerly sang in the choir. Mr. Johnson was also a member of the Savannah Yacht Club, the Sons of the Confederacy, Colonial Warriors and was former president of AMBUCS.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia Plunkett Johnson of Savannah; a sister-in-law, Roberta Plunkett of Savannah; nieces, Robin Thomson and husband Rick, Carrie Burkhart and husband, Brian, Rea Burkhart and Erin Plunkett, all of Savannah; nephews, Bill Plunkett and wife Donna, and Sean Plunkett, all of Savannah; cousins, Allan White of Dillard, GA, Elise Varnedoe of Albuquerque, NM, Camilla Fields of Lawrenceville, GA, Sally Tonsmeire of Cartersville, GA and James Bond of Savannah; his best friend, Robert Burris of Savannah; and his caregivers, Vanessa Washington, Lakecia Richardson, Jackie Brown, and Wanda Ellis, all of Savannah.
Graveside services will be held at 9:30 am on Saturday in Laurel Grove Cemetery with The Rev. Jim Shumard officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
